How to play on Xbox
Search for 'Shift at Midnight' on your Xbox Series X|S, or open it from the Microsoft / Xbox store listing. It is a native current-gen console build, not a cloud-only title, so it installs and runs locally on the hardware.
If you already own it on Xbox, you can also pick up where you left off through cloud gaming, since the Game Pass console and cloud builds share the same services.
Game Pass inclusion
The game entered Game Pass on launch day, so anyone with an active subscription can install and play at no extra cost. That covers console Game Pass, PC Game Pass and cloud gaming through the Xbox app.
Game Pass is the cheapest way to try the game if you already subscribe - you only pay if you later want to keep it after a subscription lapses, and your save data carries over either way.
Cross-progression note
